Latin America Program Manager
Born and raised in Venezuela, Maria holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas where she was an active member of the student movement in Venezuela. Later in 2014, she graduated from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs with an M.A. in International Relations. At Maxwell she completed an inter-disciplinary curriculum that centered around governance studies, diplomacy and management of international and non-governmental organizations with a focus on cross-cultural understanding and conflict resolution. Additionally, she pursued a regional concentration focused on development and democracy issues in Latin America.
In the past, she has worked for international organizations as well as the public sector on issues like youth-led development, migration and human rights. Her experience includes working at the political section of the British Embassy in Caracas, the Department of International Partnerships and Cooperation at the International Organization for Migration in Geneva and the Youth-led Social Innovation Team at UNESCO in Paris.
